Get to know me....
My name is Laura, I am a fully qualified Person centred counsellor and a registrant on the BACP register of counsellors and psychotherapists. I am qualified in the use of CBT tools, and use a variety of aspects from different therapies in order to support you in overcoming any difficulties that you wish to bring to therapy in an integrative way.
I also have over 20 years experience of working with children and young people in different educational and therapeutic settings and have worked to support children in therapy dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD, self harm, gender identity issues and suicidal thoughts.
I am experienced in working with neurodiversity and have over the years developed an inclusive approach to those who may need alternative therapies such as art therapy and floor work. This can mean a less formal way of working, overcoming difficulties in communication which may be present.
Counselling at Essex Inspire Counselling
Life at times can be challenging and as human beings it is natural to seek support during different times. Are you or a loved one having feeling of anxiety or periods of low mood? Are you having negative or worrying thoughts but feel unable to share them with people closest to you? Are you currently struggling with illness or bereavement?
These are but a few of the reasons that people seek therapy and are a normal part of life and relationships. It is when these feelings become overwhelming and interfere with our ability to complete everyday tasks that we may be looking for a little help.
Together we can look at the reasons for these struggles and work towards you feeling able to deal with them in a manageable way.
